We came from Rocky Mount for a medical procedure for my husband. We went to find somewhere to eat and found this bagel shop and thought we would try it. It is one of the best bagels that we have eaten since being in New York. The food was delicious and the service amazing. Darren is one of the most amazing owner, making sure we liked what we were eating. His story of the background of the place was so interesting and he is so outgoing. We definitely will travel back to enjoy the food. No need to wait for an appointment with my husbandβs doctor. We meet Lucy the manager and Mario the baker. Everything from scratch.

As a born and raised New Yorker, itβs been a long time since Iβve had a proper bagel with sausage, egg and cheese! This place, totally delivered with proper authentic short order grilled egg made to order! None of that microwaved egg crap some of these other places provide. And the coffee was your typical basic New York bagel shop- Simple yet delicious! Good job guys!

Was thrilled to happen on to this place! Good NY style cookies, excited to see kinishes! Good flavorful bagels, really liked the rye (bummed they had run out of flavors, so go earlier). Super nice employees, and loved the customer crowd, fun misplaced Northerners. Photo: yes, I put pimento cheese on my eye bagel! Obviously been in the South too long now!

I lived in South Florida, which is essentially "New York South", for many years before coming to NC, and was married to a Jewish woman for a long time, so I learned appreciate and discern good deli food. I grew to enjoy am everything bagel lightly toasted with cream cheese, Nova, red onion, and capers. It has been a long time since I've had one of the beauties in a restaurant. Well, NYBD came very close to what I would call a perfect bagel. The bagel itself had the perfect texture and chewiness; the cream cheese was, well, cream cheese; they actually had capers; and they had "Nova Lox". However, I must say that the lox was very stringy and hard to eat. Not a good quality of lox. But other than that it brought back a lot of memories. I also got a knish, but it tasted like a pancake. To be fair, I haven't had a good knish in South Florida lately either. I guess I'll just have to wait and get one in NY some day. The atmosphere is fun here, too, it really feels like a legit NY establishment.

Highly recommend this spot if you love good quality NYC bagels. We tried two different bagels and would go back again to try more. The Pastrami & cheese in garlic bagel was PHENOMENAL and the everything bagel with honey walnut cream cheese was delicious as well. Next week we try moreπ―
